This adopted Chamoniard (Chamonix resident) has around 20 expeditions on all continents under his belt. He works as a high-mountain guide in the Alps and all over the world. His passion for high altitude has taken him to the summit of Everest without oxygen. A passionate promoter of alpine style, complete commitment and autonomy are his guiding principles.

Alexia Zuberer

BASE: Courchevel

Alexia is a ski instructor, mountain guide, and occasional lecturer. She has also co-authored books about the mountains: one for the 20th anniversary of the Pierra Menta, and two for Travel For Others, a non-profit organisation that supports education in the valleys of Nepal.

RUNNING, entre 1993 et 2000

Many podium places in high-altitude races (including the Skymarathon) and a member of the international Skyrunner team:

 Skymarathon in Cervinia (return race to the Breithorn); Skymarathon in Tingri, Tibet; Trofeo Kima; a four-day individual race round Mont Blanc; record for ascent of Dôme de Neige des Ecrins from Pré de Madame Carl, in 2hrs41; winner, with Gloriana Pellissier, of the Skyski du Mont Blanc race.

SKI MOUNTAINEERING, 1995-2002

Four-time winner, Pierra Menta; winner, La Patrouille des Glaciers; twice European champion; six-time winner, European Cup; winner, Mezzalama.

(Teammates: Annie Pivot, Claudine Trécourt, Véronique Laturaz, Danièle Hacquard, Arianna Follis, Gloriana Pellissier).

ADVENTURE RAIDS, 2000-2002

- 3rd, Raid Gauloises (ERTIPS team), 2000, in Tibet/Nepal.

-Traverse from Courmayeur to Cortina (eight days' running, biking, skins) in a four-person team, International Year of Mountains, 2002.
